Tumblr's dead. RIP

This post may get controversial, but that's how I roll, man.

There were rumors that Tumblr was shutting down...but that no longer seems to be the case. It was, however, taken off the Apple Store for fear of child pornography (among other things) but it remains on the Play Store for Android. If and when it'll be taken down from there, I'm not too sure. But there is one thing that's pretty much set in stone:

Tumblr is going down. Maybe not the site itself, but the traffic is definitely dwindling.

Here's why I think that's the case.

Before, Tumblr was like every other social media site, much like Facebook and Twitter and stuff. Unfortunately, sometime down the line, Tumblr seemed to be overrun with a lot of negative people who loved nothing more than to complain about minor things and blow them up to unnecessary proportions. Of course, this isn't all exactly true, but the negative comments people seem to have about Tumblr and some of the posts it has does not help at all. it also doesn't help that it's technically the social media punching bag for anything SJW related.

Of course, it was also a safe haven for porn artists and lovers, which resulted in a lot of blogs dedicated to all types of porn and hentai.

Nowadays, Tumblr is mostly known for two things: SJWs and porn, the latter being the major reason anyone would even go to Tumblr. Sure, many artists still have a following there, but with the NSFW Purge hitting plenty of bot operated NSFW blogs and a few non-bot operated ones, it seems like Tumblr may not last long (especially with a lot of people's negative thoughts on it) so...the question is: what will happen to Tumblr?

Nothing, that's what.

Sure it may have lost one of the major draws to the site, but it's not the end of Tumblr. It just needs another draw to it. Sadly, NSFW won't work as much due to NG and other sites picking up the pieces from its Purge, and it just gives the internet another reason to blast on Tumblr.

But these are just my thoughts.

[EDIT UPDATE] Tumblr just banned all NSFW content (and fucked others because of inconsistent and trollish flagging), so yeah. Tumblr's now dead. RIP.

Just to get this out of the way: I totally forgot that Newgrounds existed until now! It was part of my...debatably good childhood, but I remember the numerous amounts of flash animations and games that I would waste my time on. I wonder how could I forget such a good site...

Oh yeah. Growing up and having a life. Fuck being an adult; it sucks!

Anywho, with that out of the way, let me introduce myself. I'm Zerxioh, and I do both SFW and NSFW artwork. I have other sites that I publish my stuff on, so count this as just another one of the many ones. The major reason I came to this site (and remembered it) was because of the whole thing with Tumblr and their attempts to control the NSFW bots. Thankfully, I wasn't affected, but hey, if the whole thing ends up with me finding and having another place to upload my stuff, then so be it.
